Africa, skin of the world. Bahia, Brazil's cultural cradle.
Tiganá is a Brazilian singer and composer, a young poet, a searcher of his Afro-Brazilian roots, who reveals with his creation and his so peculiar voice, his own modern and ancestral sight of the universe.
Tiganá is one of those rare Brazilians who composes in African languages, refreshing our ears with his airy harmonies inspired from the polyphonic languages, attached to his ancestral roots although with creativity, with rigor in his style, still allowing music to invade it, with a communicative capacity of universal scope.
He's already one of favorite composer of international diva Virgínia Rodrigues, this year he recorded his first CD, Maçalê, under brilliant musical direction of Luiz Brasil, counting with big names of Brazilian music as Virgínia Rodrigues herself, trumpeter Joatan Nascimento, singer-composer Roberto Mendes, guitarist Mou Brasil, and others. This work of author illustrates the wonderful talent of this young baianese, situated, simultaneously ahead of his time and out of time.
“Tiganá's music is like a perfume of rhythmic essence and pure fragrance, offered to the major divinity, Afro-Brazilian natural beauty, sophistication and elegance ”.
